Overview of Import Data from Tally to Marg Books

Import Data from Tally to Marg Books is a feature that facilitates the migration of accounting & inventory data from Tally to Marg Books, ensuring continuity in data management and simplifying the transition process for users who are switching between accounting platforms.

Process of Configuration in Tally

Note: Before initiating the data transfer process, users must have Tally running in the background

  • Firstly, the user will click on 'Help' tab.

  • Go to 'Settings > Connectivity'.

  • Then, the user will press 'Enter' key on 'Client / Server Configuration'.

  • The user can view the client-server configuration settings, which must be configured in Tally (as shown in the below image).

Process to Import Data from Tally to Marg Books

  • Firstly, click on 'Utilities & Tools'.

  • The user will click on 'Data Import' option.

  • In 'Tally' option, the user will click on 'Import' button.

In 'Select Transaction Type', the user will select from the following options:

a. All Data: Select this option to import all data i.e. accounting & inventory.

b. Masters Only: Select this option to import only master data.

c. Masters with Balance: Select this option to import master data along with balances.

  • Suppose select 'All Data' and click on 'Import Company' button.

  • The user can view the imported data as it is being processed.

  • The user can view the Data has been Imported Successfully from Tally Software to Marg Books.

Important: After completing the import process, the user should follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: After importing, users should resave all bills by following the steps outlined below.

  • Firstly, click on 'Sale > Bill'.

  • On the right side, the user will place a 'Tick' against bills that require resaving.

  • The user will press 'Alt+S' key.

  • Now, click on 'Start' button.

  • The user can view the Resave data as it is being processed.

  • The user can view All Sale Bills will get Resaved in Marg Books.

Step 2: Once all bills have been resaved, the user should proceed to run error checking.

  • Firstly, click on 'Utilities & Tools'.

  • Click on 'Error Checking' option.

  • The user will click on 'Yes' in order to start data correction.

  • The user can view the Error Checking will get done in Marg Books.

After following the above steps, the user can easily Import Data from Tally to Marg Books.
