How to enable Additional Field for Item in Marg Software ?

In Marg Software, an extra field of ‘Print Item’ can be enabled in the item master. This facilitates the user to use ‘Print Name’ in the invoices instead of ‘Main Item Name’.

Suppose, the item name is too long, however user needs to keep this ‘Item Name’ in all records but only needs to print the name of the item in short at the time of billing then it can be possible by using the field of ‘Print Name’.

In order to enable Additional field for Item, the user needs to follow the below steps:

  • Firstly, Go to Masters > Marg Setups > Control Room.


  • A 'Control Room' window will appear.
  • The user will select ‘Search in all’.

  • A 'Controls' window will appear in which the user will Search 'Additional Field'.
  • Click on ‘Accept’.

  • An 'Additional Field' window will appear.
  • In 'Additional field for Item Print Name / Self Font / Generic Name' option, the user will select 'Y'.

  • Now press 'Enter' key and mention the name of the additional field as per the requirement.
  • Suppose mention 'Print Name'.

  • The user will now press 'ESC' key twice.

  • Then click on ‘Yes’ to save the changes.

  • The user can view the 'Print Name' field will get Add in Item Master.

After following the above steps, the user can Enable Additonal Field for Item in Marg Software.
