Process to recover Protective Backup in Marg Software

OVERVIEW OF RANSOMWARE IN SYSTEM

Ransomware is a kind of cyber-attack that involves hackers taking control of a computer or mobile device and demanding payment. In simple words, it is a type of malware or a program that infects the computer system either by clicking on the wrong thing or downloading the wrong thing as it locks the keyboard or computer to prevent you from accessing your data. Basically, it holds the files of the computer for 'ransom' by encrypting or preventing access to operating system such as Windows and threatens to block access to the files until a ransom is paid which is usually demanded in Bitcoin.

PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT DATA FROM RANSOMWARE IN SYTEM

1. Take Backup of the Data on regular basis: Take backup with the help of a portable hard drive.

2. Scan Attachment: The user must download only those attachments in the system which is being received via email of which he/she has a complete knowledge.

3. Never Download .exe attachments: It could be a Ransomware attack.

4. Show extensions: Always show the extensions of the files if user is a window user which enables the user to view the files whether there are renasomware or not

 5. Use Firewall: keep 'On' the window firewall.

6. Disable Remote Sharing: Do not keep on the Remote Sharing option on in the window as it may cause ransomware attack in the user computer system.

7. Disable All Networks: Keep the internet 'Off' if there is any chance of ransomware attack in the system as encryption takes time.

8. Disable Auto play: Disable the Auto play function always if the user plays USB. 

9. Server Exe Must be enable: The user must enable the Server Exe File at the time of Running Marg Software in the System.

PROCESS TO RECOVER PROTECTIVE BACKUP IN MARG SOFTWARE

In order to recover Protective Backup, the user needs to follow the below steps:

Note: The user will install the Marg Software in the Blank Pendrive.

• Firstly, the user will Download & Install the Marg Software.

• After Installing the Software, the user will Press 'F9' key on the 'List of Companies' window.

• A 'Recover' window will appear.

• In 'Protected Backup', the user will select '1st/2nd' as per the requirement.

• Suppose select '1st'.

• The protected backup path will show .Press 'Enter' key.

• A  'Backup Recover From' window will appear with the List of the Backup. 

Note: The user will select the '.Mst File' of the Date and Time before the Data Corruption.

• Then press 'Enter' key.

• A 'Recover' window will appear.

• The user will select 'RECOVER DATA'.

• A 'Recover Data' window will appear.

• The user will type 'Recover My Data'. Press 'Enter' key.

• A 'Successfully Recovered' alert will appear.

• Click on 'Ok'.

• A 'Marg' window will appear with the corrupted File.

• The user will keep pressing 'Enter' key.

• A 'Backup Recover From' window will appear with the list of Backups.

• The user will select the Backup File Of the Date or Time before the File corruption.

Note: The user will select the 'Protect' Backup File to recover Data.

• An 'Attention Please' window will appear.

• In 'Files Load', the user will select 'All Files'. 

• Then user will type 'Sure'.

• Similarly, the user will recover other Corrupted file in the Same way as above.

• Then Software will start loading the Recover File.

After following the above steps, the Protective Backup will get recovered in Marg Software.

• Now the user will remove the Pendrive from the System and Format the System.

• After Format the System, the user will Copy and Paste Marg Folder in the System.

• Then Contact Marg Authorise Dealer for the Re-Registration of the Marg Software.
