If Item Last year Closing Balance does not match with the Current year Opening Balance then how to resolve it in Marg Software ?

Cause:

This issue appears if the user has done some changes in last year after creating the New Financial Year and didn't run carry balance after it.

In order to resolve Item last year closing balance does not match with the current year opening balance, the user needs to follow the below steps:

  • Go to Reports >>Management Report >> Utilities >> CARRY BALANCES.

  • A ‘Carry Balance’ window will appear.
  • In order to transfer the balance from the last year to the New Financial year, click on ‘Yes’.

  • A ‘Carry Optionswindow will appear.
  • In 'Carry Stock Balances', the user will select 'Yes'.


  • A message of ‘Start Carrying from Last Year’ will appear.
  • The user will Select ‘Yes’.

  • The user can view that the last year Item balances will be carried forward to the new financial year.

  • So in this way the last year Item balances will be carried forward to the new financial year.
  • Press ‘Ctrl + I’ key to check the Stock/Inventory Balances.

If Item balance still not match then user needs to follow the below steps:

1. The user needs to Run Error Checking in both Last Year and Current Year.

2. Run Carry Balance in Current Year.
