OVERVIEW OF CESS IN MARG SOFTWARE

Cess is a form of tax charged/levied over and above the base tax liability of a taxpayer. A cess is usually imposed additionally when the state or the central government looks to raise funds for specific purposes.

PROCESS TO ENABLE CESS IN MARG SOFTWARE

• Go to Masters > Marg Setups > Control Room.

• A 'Control Room' window will appear.
• The user will select ‘Search in all’. 

• A 'Controls' window will appear in which the user will search 'Cess'.
• Now click on ‘Accept’.

A 'Cess' window will appear.

In 'Surcharge/Octroi/GST Cess', option the user will select the options as per the requirement.

a. Y-Bill Wise: Select the option, if needed to apply cess bill-wise.

b. A-Bill Wise and Ask: Select the option, if need software to ask to apply cess bill wise.

c. I-Item Wise: Select the option, if needed to apply cess Item wise.

d. W-Area Item Wise: Select the option, if needed to apply cess based on Area Item wise.

e. N-Manual: Select the option, if needed to apply cess manually.

g. X-Not Required: Select the option, if needed to disable cess.

Suppose select 'Y'.

• If 'Item wise Ask Cess in Rs also' option, the user will select the option 'Y' if need to mention cess in Amount in Item Master.

• In 'Cess Charge on B-Both/2-Local/3-Central/4-Others' option, the user will select whether the cess needs to be calculated on Local/Central/Both, etc as per the requirement.
• Press 'PageDown' key.

• In 'If Bill wise Applicable N-Item wise / Y-Whole Bill' option, if cess is set on as Bill wise then it should be calculated on the basis of an item or on the Whole bill.

• Select the option on which value the cess needs to be calculated.

• In 'Cess post percentage wise' option, the user will select 'Y' if needs to post cess percentage-wise.

• The user will now press 'ESC' key twice.

• Now click on ‘Yes’ to save the changes.

PROCESS TO FEED CESS IN ITEM MASTER IN MARG SOFTWARE

• Go to Masters > Master > Item Master.

• The user will press 'F3' key on a particular Item in which cess needs to be mentioned.
• Suppose select 'Acnederm Lot'.

• In 'Cess' option, the user will mention the cess in percentage.
• Suppose mention '5'.

• Now press 'Ctrl+W' key and click on 'Yes' to save changes.

PROCESS TO CREATE SALE BILL IN MARG SOFTWARE

• Suppose the user creates a Sale bill, and loads an item 'Acnederm Lot'.
• Cess = (Rate*Qty) * 5%
• Cess = (200*1) * 5%
• Cess = 10

After following the above steps, the user can easily Apply Cess in Marg Software.
