How to enable Less by System on Discount in Marg Software ?

In Marg Software, the user has the feature of Less by System on Discount. It enables the user to deduct the Discount Loaded in the Bill with the mentioned Percentage or Amount. i.e.,

Suppose the user has set that 2% to be less as a discount at the time of billing. So, if the user gives a 5% Discount in the Bill then the Software will be less (5%-2%).

In order to enable Less by System on Discount, the user needs to follow the below steps:

  • Go to Masters > Marg Setups > Control Room.


  • A 'Control Room' window will appear.
  • The user will select ‘Search in all’.

  • A 'Controls' window will appear in which the user will search 'Less By'.
  • Now click on ‘Accept’.

In 'Required Less By System On Discount ( Disc%-LB%)' option, the user will select 'Y'

In 'Less By A-Disc.-LB% / B-Fix Disc. / C-Disc-LB / D-Amt-LB%' Option, the user will select the bases as per the requirement.

a. Disc.-LB%: The discount will be less by the item discount.

b. Fix Disc.: The discount will be less by the fixed discount.

c. Disc-LB: The discount will be less by the item discount which is mentioned in the amount.

d. Amt-LB%: The discount will be less by the total bill discount.

In 'Fix Less By for Sale %: The user will set the Fix percentage of discount less from the bill at the time of sale.

In 'Fix Less By for Purchase%: The user will set the Fix percentage of discount less from the bill at the time of purchase.

In 'Less By Effect on Brk/Exp: The user will set 'Y' to less discount in brk/exp entry otherwise keep the option 'No'.

  • The user will now press 'ESC' key twice.

  • Now click on ‘Yes’ to save the changes.

  • Thereafter, the user can view that the Discount will get Deducted from the Discount given in the Bill.
  • For example, Item Discount '5%' and 'Discount Deduction' set in control room '2%'.
  • so the calculation will be (5%-2%=4.9).

After following the above steps, the user can enable Less By system on Discount in Marg Software.
