As we all know norms of the HSN has been changed by the govt with effect from 1st April, 2021. Therefore, all the HSN need to be maintain as per the turnover of the businessman.

By keeping this in the mind, Marg software has developed an option to make you remind at the time of billing that digit of HSN/SAC Code of particular item is less than the required HSN/SAC code.

In order to do the same, the user will follow the below steps:

  • Firstly, Go to Masters >> Marg Setups >> Control Room. Press Enter.

  • Control Room window will appear.
  • The user will select ‘Search in all’. Press Enter.

  • Controls window will appear in which the user will Search “HSN”.
  • Now click on ‘Accept’.

  • HSN window will appear.
  • In 'Stop Billing of HSN CODE/Commodity Code Length < (Zero=Not Requred)l' option, the user will mention the number at least up to which the HSN/SAC should be.
  • Suppose, in our case we need all the HSN in the software should be of at least 6 digits, therefore, we've mentioned 6 here.

  • The user will now press Esc key twice.

  • Now click on ‘Yes’ to save the changes.

After following the above steps, you can view that at the time of billing of that item (Whose HSN/SAC code is of less than 6 digits) software will show you the indication and will not allow you to create the sale bill of that item.

As in our case, HSN of the Item is '12367' (which is of only 5 digits) therefore software is showing an alert (as we've mentioned 6 digits in the control room).
